J.Cole speaks on potential battle with Drake!
J.Cole and Drake have been compared to each other for a while now. A lot of those comparisons stopped after Drake dropped Thank Me Later and seemed to distance himself from “up and comer” status to a solidified star. But many people who know hip hop and know talent can see that the two aren’t as far apart as it may seem. J.Cole has talent! Lyrically, maybe even more than Drake. Cole counters Drake’s singing abilities with his own ability to produce. The two showcasing their talents in a lyrical battle would be interesting. Here’s what Cole had to say…
“From a fan’s point of view, who are you going to get excited about [to] battle? I feel like that’s why people push the J.Cole/Drake thing so much, ’cause I think we’re probably the first two artists that fans are super excited about. The two that they would like to see go at it. I don’t blame ‘em. But it’s just a sign of the times. Rap goes in cycles. I’m not promoting that, but I’m a competitive person in general, so I’m a fan of people throwing jabs and shots. That motivates me.”
Personally, I can’t see the two ever getting it in like, for example, Jay and Nas did. Drake is a happy go lucky guy and has said many times he’s not interested in partaking in back and forth with other artists. It would be good for hip hop though. I think deep down J.Cole wants people to know he’s on Drake’s level even though Drake took off quicker. I also think Cole would love the chance to have a friendly competition and battle Drake. Will it ever happen? Time will tell. If it ever does, who are you putting your money on?

Dipset/Skull Gang Associated With Government Informant
The Boston Herald reported Monday afternoon that Trevor Watson (above), 44, will be going to trial in U.S. District Court in Boston next month for stabbing a government informant and is charged with tampering with and retaliating against a witness. Trevor, who was acquitted for the stabbing of Paul Pierce 10 years ago and was reportedly a body guard for Benzino’s Made Men group, stabbed the “deep throat” (informant) eight times outside of a Roxbury barber shop on February 27, 2010. The informant pointed Watson out in a photo line up from his hospital bed, which led to the arrest of Watson.
A source has revealed to 57thAve that the informant allegedly has ties to the Dipset/Skull Gang South division, headed by Juelz Santana, and allegedly goes by the stage name Major Harris (Curtis Best). Months after nearly getting stabbed to death, Harris, who also goes by the street name Jay Van Allen, released the music video you see below with cameos from his Dipset/Skull Gang associates & boss Juelz Santana.
So you mean to tell me, you have the ability to rap about getting saucy and put out music videos all while being a government informant and nearly getting stabbed to death only months prior? Interesting.

F. Gary Gray in Talks to Direct Kane & Lynch -
We've know for awhile now that both Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx would play the title characters Kane & Lynch, respectively, in the adaptation of the video game of the same name. Initially, stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane was going to make this his directorial debut, but apparently he dropped off the project back in May. Now we have a pretty decent idea who will replace him as Heat Vision reports that director F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) seems to be the top choice to direct this action bonanza following Kane and Lynch being forced together on a violent and chaotic path of redemption and revenge.
Specifically, the story sees Kane, a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, are sprung from prison by Kane's former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting
as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter. Of course, nothing is set in stone for Gray to direct this gritty story yet, and other contenders like Wayne Kramer (The Cooler) and Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) could end up snagging the job. Hopefully this project finally gets off the ground soon, as we've heard about it for over three years! Still excited?

Justus League Members Injured In Car Accident In Vermont
Members of North Carolina rap collective, the Justus League, were injuried in a car accident in Vermont during the early morning hours of Wednesday (February 24).
According to a report from HipHopDX.com, Little Brother's Big Pooh, Joe Scudda, Chaundon, Jozeemo and manager Big Dho were all injured during the crash.
Fortunately, everyone is ok, but a little "banged up", Scudda said in a tweet later in the day.
Scudda detailed the crash, via his Twitter page (@JoeScudda), saying that they lost control of their van, due to the snow-covered highway, spun out and were t-boned by a tractor trailer.
"I just saw my entire life flash before my eyes," Scudda wrote. "We at the hospital making sure everybody ok!!"
All the musicians were carted to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released later in the day.
Scudda later confirmed that most of the injured members were able to make their show at a club in Vermont late Wednesday evening.
